About

Born and sort of grew up in England, then I started traveling in my twenties. Over the years I've been pulled in both directions, the big wide world and then back again to England. Today my dear wife Joyce, who is Indonesian, and I have two homes, England and Indonesia.

We have two wonderful daughters. Our youngest, Amber, also lives in Bali. She is here with her partner and our wonderful grandson, Cassius Sunny Blue, so we are in constant touch. And then our dear Jade, who lives in London with her partner and our beautiful granddaughter, Autumn Indigo Hunter. Jade was born in Bandung, Java. Amber in Singapore. Both my girls help me a lot with my photographic art work. They are my most fierce and irritating critics.

We are travellers. We spent significant time in Indonesia, England and Singapore and I have hit many countries around the world. But that’s a whole other story. I have lost count of our moves.

All of this time, besides maintaining other interests I have had one true passion in my life besides my family…Photography.

I have been passionate about photography all my life. I actually dropped out of a good job to take a course at a top college in London. That was some years ago. I had the privilege to learn about developing and printing from film. Then photography started to change. All of a sudden we were in a new age, the digital age. At first like most photographers I turned my back on this revolution, thinking it would not last. I was working with England’s number one fashion photographer at that time on a project for Wella in Singapore. I was based in Singapore as creative director for Wella. He said that in 5 years photography will be pretty much all digital. He was spot on. Here we are today. What to say. From developing and printing my pictures in a dark room, I sit in front of an iMac with today’s software, producing pixel perfect images. Like many I am absorbed in mixed media art prints. I do not though go much for photo composites. That though is a personal choice and not a criticism. I know several photographers who create some beautiful composites. My nostalgic love for the dark room days will never die.

This London boy has been lucky to have had his work displayed in many exhibitions, including seven solo ones. It’s a nice feeling knowing that my prints are on the walls of homes and businesses in many countries around the world.
Anyway, enough from me. I give you my pictures. Enjoy!
